About Suzuki Bikes
The Suzuki Motor Corporation was founded n 1909 by Michio Suzuki who manufactured silk looms. The company had a financial crisis in 1952 and the company expanded to manufacturing small engines for bicycles, which led to the 36cc Power Free motorcycle, the 60cc Diamond Free bike and the Colleda COX, a 125cc bike that debuted in 1955.
suzuki on - and off-road motorcycles are manufactured by the Suzuki Motor Corporation, based in Hamamatsu, Japan. The company also manufactures all-terrain vehicles. Suzuki earned its reputation in the 1970s developing a wide range of off-road motorcycles for motocross endurance races. It has since developed a series of on-road cruisers and racing motorcycles.
Suzuki quickly gained a reputation for powerful, nimble and reliable motorcycles with the introduction in 1971 of the GT750 Water Buffalo, so named because it was water cooled. It was rebadged the Kettle in the United Kingdom. The GS750 followed in 1976. In 1978, the GS1000 was introduced.
In 1985, Suzuki debuted the 100-horsepower air- and oil-cooled street legal GSX-R750, a virtual copy of Suzuki's formula race bike. It paved the way for a new trend in street legal superbikes that would dominate the motorcycle industry for the next 2 decades. The GSX-R1100 was added to the Suzuki line in 1986.
